Making a one piece Bulwark for a DSM

Thanks, have been doing that but found it somewhat hit and miss ! Someone mentioned that there was a formula for translating deck curvature into that used for Bulwarks. But like a lot of useful comments they weren't able to tell me what that Formula was ! Whether I would have understood how to apply i is an entirely different question ! Looks like back to the cardboard templates....I'll have to eat much more cereal !

Make a cardboard template and cut to fit. When happy trace to a piece of thin ply. You may need to use more than one piece to allow for the curvature and the grain will have to allow for all the angles involved. Effectively you will be making your own piece of ply. You can finish off with car body filler to final contour to the hull sides.

I am making a 1/32 Ship Docking Module ( with two Voith Schneider power units) . It is modelled on the 'Salvador Dali' which I believe has featured on these pages in the past. The big question is once Ive put on the deck and worked out the Hatches comes to putting on the Deck surround ( Bulwarks?) The Bow and Stern have identical curvatures . I want to use a single piece of ply or plasticard (if I really have to) . But how do you work out the Curvature of the piece of material you need to cut related to the curvature of the Deck ? I hope this makes sense Will want the Bulwarks to have a slight angle leaning inwards>
