Received my smoke generator in today's post.
Haven't had the opportunity to test it yet!
Also need 5/8" brass tubing. To run up the stack!
I had ordered some 5/8" plastic tubing.
But I don't like it. it's all curved up don't like at all!
Note:
I used 1/4" piece of wood dowel.
To hold the clear hose that's used for the smoker!
It worked really nice! and has practically no weight what so ever!

Brooklyn now has a waterline!
You can't see it in the picture.
but my masking tape bled in some area's.
Just a few minor correction needed!
I'm thinking of putting white pin striping!
On the waterline. what do you think?
[{"id":"1525740900","name":"1525740900.jpg","caption":"","url":"https:\/\/beta.model-boats.com\/media\/1525740900\/l","thumbUrl":"https:\/\/beta.model-boats.com\/media\/1525740900\/s","isImage":true,"ext":"jpg"}]
I have used white pinstriping before.Plus I have used other colours too.Make sure to stick it down good.I first used my fingers then after the tape is on to my liking I used a burnishing stick. One thing I forgot to mention is start your tape at the halfway point on the stern then go around the bow and meet back at the stern. The pinstriping I have used is either the car striping or the one that is used for the model airplanes.
I've placed an order for some Tamiya tape.
As Doug, RNinMunich recommended!
Trying to cleanup the waterline on the Brooklyn!
Oh, Had to order a new battery pack. for my wireless Dremel also!
Does anyone know of a good electronics place one can order resisters from?
Hi Ron,
don't worry👍 I already sent Ed some wiring diagrams with resistor calcs for his LED circuits and links to resistor sources in the US.
BTW: I assume you meant Component Shop, or maybe RS Components? Otherwise just 'components' could mean anything / anywhere, especially to Ed who is in USA! Thanks for responding anyway👍
Cheers Doug 😎
Finally, it's a sunny day here!
I decided to spray the Stem Post & Bollards!
I'm using Olive Drab instead of black.
I think it will give good contrast to my build!
I have to build up the forward and Aft H bitts as well.

I'm going to paint the superstructure.
90 Beige Green Matt - 150ml Acrylic Spray Paint.
by Humbrol #AD6090!
This will help for the Tug to stand out on the ponds!
With olive drab for contrast!
But I'm taking my time with the project.
Because I may also be going to put deck light. and running lights as well!
I just received my replacement Dremel Battery Pack!
It charged in 1 1/2 hrs.
Now, I can continue my build of the Brooklyn!
Oh, we're having another rainy day here in New England!

Happy Dremelling Ed, mind yer fingers! Cheers Doug 😎
There was a break in the weather.
So, I painted the galley smoke stack.
And also the fire buckets stand!
Note:
Pacients while building the fire bucket stands.
Is a must as you will be glue very thin wire thats.
Used as a support!

I assembled the forward & aft H Bitts also painted them!
They are a bit flimsy. But once glued to the deck.
They become stronger!
The deck is black from over spray. I will be painting the deck tan or a good shade of wood! The deck has tape all over it! So, I won't have to prime the deck!

Well the Tamiya Tape arrived! Now I can go ahead and fix the waterline on the Brooklyn! There's some over spray I have to tidy up. Once I'm done with that. on to the Deck and Deck hardware!

The Tamiya tape is great stuff to work with.I use it all the time.
Just make sure you keep a constant pressure on it.Don't pull on it too hard.It does take curves depending on the width of the tape.
Enjoy marking your waterline.
Thanks, for the input won't pull on it too hard!
I got the 6mm and 40mm for now! I got the 6mm to help me make the turn on aft of the hull! Here goes nothing!
I was going to use a very light green. By Humbrol but decided against it because.
I thought about it Tugs of that class and era.
Where a dark green! But I don't want to use dark green!
So, I purchased medium light green instead.
It's called "Army Green"!
Oh, it has no shine what so ever.
A very matt finish which is what I want!
If you look at the picture to the right.
That's the original Brooklyn.
Docked somewhere on a New York City pier. Circa 1910!
[{"id":"1527965201","name":"1527965201.jpg","caption":"","url":"https:\/\/beta.model-boats.com\/media\/1527965201\/l","thumbUrl":"https:\/\/beta.model-boats.com\/media\/1527965201\/s","isImage":true,"ext":"jpg"},{"id":"1521597987","name":"1521597987.jpg","caption":"","url":"https:\/\/beta.model-boats.com\/media\/1521597987\/l","thumbUrl":"https:\/\/beta.model-boats.com\/media\/1521597987\/s","isImage":true,"ext":"jpg"}]

Well, I finally assembled the pilot house and main cabin!
I drilled holes straight through the pilot house and main cabin!
I'm using very thin wire! Don't even know what gauge it is!
For those of you who may want to build the Tug Brooklyn.
When making the main cabin be careful.
That the main cabin deck is flat!
So that when you go to put the pilot house on to the main cabin deck. they are flush the main cabin deck has camber.
But the pilot house bottom doesn't have camber! So when you put them together they don't match! I sanded down the pilot house bottom. to match the main cabin deck as best as possible.
I had to put an extra strip of plastic to hide the uneven seam. from where the pilot house met the main cabin deck!
I think once painted it won't be too noticeable!

So far so good Ed 👍
Looking closely at the pics of the original I note that she also had such trim boards around the base of the pilot house so no sweat eh? 😉
