Watercat M12 (Jurmo Class) landing craft

Hi Shipmates,

1. Stick roof on main cargo compartment
2. Added 4 holes to lifting points.

Very cold in shed ate a bowl of porridge before I went out there.

Hi Shipmates,
Another 'Disaster!' "Just cannot measure a bit of wood", the middle cargo area is wrong the windows are at too steep an angle.
Have dismantled roof, removed windows panels both sides (may need to rebuild) and cut down the sides of the main cargo area to get the angle correct.
Have had to order more 1mm(0.8) ply.

Hi Shipmates,

A warm minus 4°C this morning in Sunny Cumbria in the UK.

So had to rip off the cargo hold roof, and windowed sections and cut down the sides to the correct hight and angle, removed some cross braces, may replace later ?

Cut out the 3mm ply rear deck that the Cabin will be constructed on, have added some bracing around 3 sides, hope the sheet will stay flat, will add more under the 3mm ply.

Hi Shipmates,

Rear /cabin deck is of 3mm ply, used part of low resolution sketch to determine the size and position of the base of the cabin.

To make things complicated the sides of the cabin are not straight, but bend inwards at the halfway point see first pic.
The front sections of the cabin tilt forward at the halfway point. thus the roof is narrower than the base of the cabin and projects forward at the front just overlapping the start of the cargo area.

All-in-all a complex shape to make.😭

Added a 3mm cabin base then another 3mm riser (10mm all round smaller), as there is a air gap before the cabin floor starts, this is because in the real world the cabin is detachable and can be removed for replacement or to access the engine bay for major engine maintenance etc.

Hi Shipmates,

Back in the utility room as shed too cold hit minus 10°C, fingers stopped working.

Added some semi scale hatches.

Also an attempt to create a plan of rear/stern of cabin.

Hi Shipmates,

A sudden warm spell allowed me to go into the shed.
Start to cut out the basic sides to the Cabin.
Glue two sides together.

    Hi Shipmates,

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

I work as a Carer and that is most probably why I have caught Covid so often, had all the jabs, last time was about a year ago.

So to all be aware Covid is still around, and if you are vulnerable take extra care.

Have a Merry Christmas, (mine is on hold at the moment, but I should be OK by the New Year)

    Kind Regards

Hi Shipmates,

Minor update, spent time adding panels (some not required= sub roof and floor) to the cabin, and designing roof beams.

Watercat M12 (Jurmo Class) landing craft

A quick update, after a year off I am pleased to return to do some work on my project.
In old age one thing that can allude us is enthusiasm, life seems to get more complicated and spare time vanishes away.

I had to rebuild the sides of the cargo cabin, re-cutting all the windows and adding smoked Perspex windows.
Next I added the twin doors to the top fore cabin (part of exit route for troops)

Hi Shipmates,

I added a flaring to the cargo body, and a movable armour shield top piece on to the rear of the cargo body, this can be inverted to provide some protection for the helmsman. on the model it is fixed down (otherwise I wouldn't be able to see were I'm going) joke.
Truth, too much work and a breakable extra.
Added to this a small shaped piece of ply on one side of the armour, other side to do .

Cut a window in the first sliding door (starboard) of the rear cabin
Cut out a second sliding door (port)
