If you want fast and light it may be time to take the plunge and go LiPo !!!!! They do give a way better capacity/weight/current delivery than NiMh. True they are a little more complex in their care and feeding but its not that difficult.

yes the fireboat did this so I fitted an in line switch so I can ensure the rx powers first otherwise its all manner of problems when the cheapo hobbyking escs get all lost looking for a signal!!
