Hello,
I am sorry if I took too long to respond. Seems like the club guys want to do everything by committee.
If you still have the model and would like to part with it, we can pick it up on Nov 15. Coming from York, PA. Anytime from mid morning or early afternoon.
Thanks for thinking of us and the hobby,
Call to make any arrangements you need.

More information-I thought a pdf file was pretty much universal in the computer world, but I have been wrong before! I could open it by just clicking on the icon. Such is life.
The model ship that some asked about is the USS ANTIGONE, a 1919 circa troop transport. The builders grandfather served on her 1918-1919. She was originally SS Neckar built for North German Lloyd from her 1900 launch until seized by the U.S. in 1917. After her war service she was SS Potomac for United States Lines. The model has 2 main drive motors a smoking stack, navigation & deck lights. Fiberglass hull.

Hi Doug
Yes I agree, on the posting page it does say files. I was looking at the heading on the post.
Portable Document Files are not Photo files.
I suspect Adobe PDF like its Flash player is possibly not that secure and many service providers now prefer using a different and more secure medium.
Just about to head off to set up for the Model Boat Convention, kooks like we might have some decent weather.
Happy days
Dave

Hi Dave, harsh? it just doesn't work! All you get is the Adobe logo!
The site actually says "Upload photos / files"! pdf is a file, and yes you are correct - PORTABLE. QED.
Several of us have fallen into this trap. it would have been so much easier for me to have given Marky the manual for the RC set I suggested to him as a rookie.
Re THE PICS; I was also wondering about it being a liberty ship cos it's not quite right for an auxiliary dry goods supply ship or oiler.
After a period of monsoon rain we now have around 30°, get a lot done outside until evening, then the infamous Bavarian thunderstorms start! 🤔
Just had another one 😡
I used to tell people in the office "I don't want to hear any more crap about English weather! While we have floods my mother has a garden hose ban and brown lawn"! (Ich will kein Scheiß mehr über Englisches Wetter hören! Während wir Überflutungen haben hat meine Mutter Gartenschlauchverbot und braune rasen!) 😭
Glue 'N Glaze and other goodies arrived today 😊 Busy days ahead 😉 Cheers Doug 😎

Aren't PDFs portable document files? it's a bit harsh blaming the site when the caption clearly states "Attach Photos".
I agree great looking pics. Could that be a Liberty ship?
Always good to hear from fellow Scale Ship modellers.
Looks like nice weather lets hope it makes it across the pond for this weekend

Shucks, pdfs don't work on this site, JPEGs ONLY! 🤔
Pics are great though, wish I'd been there.
All the entry crap frightens me off😡
Shame cos I liked PA. Spent some time around Philly some years ago, had driven down from Buffalo, afterwards back to Garden City Long island.
Was a great trip 😊
Cheers Doug 😎

I have attached a PDF report of our 2017 Regatta, held in York, PA. USA. Beautiful day, perfect sailing weather. We had to go to a new venue as our "old pond" had a serious shortage of water. Everyone had a good time with lots of sailing, course running and model judging. There were several new builds that had not been seen before.

Our August Regatta went well, lots of fun but there was rain in the forecast so attendance was off a bit. Had about 48 models, 23 skippers. The first photo is of the SSMA display with my IJN URANAMI, made from a paper model kit.
The third phots shows the Captain's briefing board for the steering course.
MV PAETRA (last Photo) built on last years prize of a free hull from Loyalhanna Dockyard by Norman Brailsford, he researched the ship on the internet, obtained photos and went to work. Real nice job! We all had a good time, finished up just before the rain came!

This is where we have our annual regatta, always the third Sunday of August. We are a Scale Ship Modeler Association of North America member club.
