About this boat

This is from an early Sterling EMMA C. BERRY 2 masted schooner kit. Scale: 3/4" (1/16). 49.5" length, 10.75" beam, 40" height. The original boat was built in 1866 as a gaff sloop in Noank CT., and converted to a two-masted schooner in 1889. All-wood hull, masts, spars, and superstructure. I added a sail winch and extended keel to make her more responsive, especially upwind.

Outstanding sailing Lindemann and great vid. The classic Sterling kit that's highly prized today. And it's still with us at the Mystic Seaport in Connecticut!
