About this boat

My first build after a 2o year Lull. Ended up catching covid which went to Long Haul Covid. I was extremely sick for the first 2 weeks. I had issues for about 3 months. I have had this kit for 15yrs and was so bored while staying home. I pulled it out to "look " at it, 4 months later we were here.

    Thanks Dave!
As soon as I'm back I'll take some photos of the "wreck".
Did you have these lasers or do you have such a device yourself?
This would take me wonder how you did it.
    best regards

Hey Michel, the railings are laser cut from basswood sheets 1/8 thick. As far as the drive I used the motor mount from the kit with a dumas 120 rpm gear motor. The rubber o-ring belt is from the kit. I didn't want to cut a huge slot where the belt passes through the cabin so I drilled holes and used weather pack connector seals from auto parts store. They fit the belt and the hole tightly. Very simple and works very well. On a 20 minute cruise it takes on a teaspoon full of water. I used a 15 dollar chinese speed control and tactic receiver with no antenna. I have had really good luck with it. Not much load on it so the cheaper speed control worked perfect for this application. Look up my build log on here it should have pretty good pics of it. If not I can take more pics and get them on here. Thanks Dave

    Hi „River Rat“,
Your Creole Queen is perfect! what would surprise me when setting it up:
are the railings made of wood or plastic?🤔
Since I only received plastic parts for my similar model, I had it lasered from 1.5mm plywood. They have become brittle due to age and that's why I'm replacing them. 😅
Do you have any more pictures of how you built the drive? would be grateful!
hobbyist greetings from the Swiss mountains
    Michel Claude
