My wife has 2 dolls houses which take up a space 9feet long 6feet high and 3 feet deep. Twice the space of 8 of my largest models, but I can take mine to shows and the sailing venues. She got jealous and got her own boats now, and between us we have 31, and now I have to takeher with me, ITS GREAT working on models together and sailing together.
Keep collecting and sailing, the Zwarte Zee looks great lucky begger.

Police Launch 1.12 Scale
Police (Scotland) 1.12 scale. made from a Semi-Kit by Models by Design, built 2014.
This is modelled from the interceptor42 range by Safehaven Marine. This is my first full build of a model, having only done restorations previously.
Model length is some 42 inch, beam of 12 inch. (106cm x 31cm)
Power is by twin E-Max BL2826 Brushless motors and 1, 80amp speed controller running on 2 NiMH 7.2 volts.
Fitted with Action electronics Police siren, and with detailed rotating blue lights and searchlights.
I sail this at Cold Knap Lake Barry Vale of Glamorgan, and I am the Founding member of the Vale Of Glamorgan Model Boat Club.
Also included is my Portland Pilot interceptor 42 which was the original prototype from Models by Design which I purchased and added lighting etc, this runs on Brushless motor running on 12Volt lead acid.

They look great, I've built British MTB, A German S Boat, now I want to do the American & Japanese boats, do you have plans for your boat that I could buy from you?
    Thanks
  • DodgyGeezerSub-Lieutenant
    Alas, no.
    I don't sell plans.

    All my plans are free.

My plans are not really 'plans', as you might expect. They are cutting lines, which produce a set of balsa parts. These are then stuck together, following either the instructions or the build log on my web site. This is as near as I can get the the original experience of buying a Keil Kraft 'Eezebilt' balsa kit in the 1960s.

For kids, an adult can cut the parts out and the kid can assemble them. For adults they might want to print out the plans at A3 size to make a bigger boat, and replace the balsa hull skins with 1/16" ply...

For the free PT boat plans, go to http://eezebilt.tk/plans.html

You want the 'Elco PT Boat'...

49 Inch Perkasa fixed after burnout
Following burning out the motor by fouling the prop on a polythene bread wrapper I fitted a new 160 amp speed controller and got a bargain motor from Giant Shark. it is an Emax GT4020 which cost about £14. I realised what a bargain it was and went back only to find Giant Shark have ceased trading. The video shows the boat running on a 4 cell Lipo, it goes a bit quicker on a 5 cell that I have. I am really sold on Lipo power as Dave said I would be. I have just ordered a 3 cell Lipo for my crash tender

Looking at your knuckleboom crane, tells me that you are a great craft master.
I will be facing soon the same situation.

R.N.L.B. Lady MacRobert (Montrose Lifeboat)
This 1/12 scale model is based on the Aerokits Solent Class lifeboat. Over the past 5 months it has been under going a major refit. I originally built the boat about 35 years ago and got the "bug" again last September. I've done the best I can to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

Its powered by two MFA Torpedo 800 electric motors. power comes from two lead acid batteries, each rated at 12v 7Ah. Control is provided by two Mtroniks Tio ESC. The twin spade rudders are linked to one servo. Each ESC has its own receiver. I found that one receiver, using a Y lead, could not continuesly keep the two ESC supplied with a signal and they kept going into Failsafe mode alternately. I got round it by binding two receivers to the one transmitter. Within the engine compartment is an automatic bilge pump. Two probes detect if/when the water level rises to a certain amount in the bilge and activates the pump.

The model has working radar scanner , navigation lights, search light and blue flashing light.

I've not done a blog either. I have the RNLI drawings but as you know you only get the starboard side in detail. Also they cut everything off above the wheelhouse roof so no detail regarding radar or aerials.
My doors are tarted up originals as supplied by Aerokits. The hatches are from Marks Boat Bits.

Interesting idea about using twin receivers. Clever
