Sea Breacher
Not your typical submarine but certainly an unusual semI submersible. Scratch built by fellow club member Brian Clewes this is a most striking looking vessel. Fiberglass hull and moulded perspex window. Home built waterjet uses a large 900 (I think) brushed motor, water cooled speed controller and 14.4v LiPo. Looks really spectacular on the water and Brian is working on the ballast to enable the model to remain just submerged. Video to follow in due course.

SemI Scratch build from a my hobby store plan and hull [only] kit. After 18 months its still an ongoing build 🔨 , as my research in to the original vessel continues so I can get it as correct as possible. 😯
I have managed to get all the correct light patterns on and working, as well as twin radar and now finally have got the crane to operate remotely from the radio transmitter. 👍

Waveney Class Lifeboat
Here is my restoration (conversion) of a US Coastguard vessel into the RNLI Waveney Class Lifeboat. I think you will agree that it looks better in its new livery. Have put in two jp power 400 motors along with mtroniks auto tune 20 amp esc and am using 7.4V lipo batteries. First try out went very well, but that was the bath, will try her out on water in couple of days

- Dave MVice AdmiralHiHi Nice to see your model. I built the US Coastguard model and use similar motors and ESC. Lipo's were not common when built so I used a 12v 1.2amp sla. Goes well on the water but duration is not very long. I have a pair of brushless motors and controllers and intend to fit with Lipo battery. it would be nice to see pics of your model on the water. Dave

Dave - vaderswarLeading SeamanHI Dave, Sorry for delay in replying, taking boat out on water for trials today will let you know how got on. As to changing to brushless, good idea I use brushless in a lot of my models, but if you have MTroniks escs you can use a lipo upto 3series (11.1v), they say this on their own website, so you could still use same motors with 7.4v lipo but change the esc. the only downside to using lipos is having to add more ballast to get waterline which is what going to find out today. Here is my George Ferris Emergency cargo Steamer the first all wood trampsteamers. durring the first world war the U-boats were sinking more cargo vessels then what they could produce. ECF aquired under contract to George Ferris to construct a lot of these old steamers because they were made from wood, These were the liberty ships od the first world war. Here is my trampsteamer S>S> GEORGE FERRIS She is RC powered by a dumas 6 volt electric motor with speed controll.
