Mike / Michel-Cl. - david41Master SeamanHi Mike.Hi Mike. glad that i could help i took the entire cabin off this evening as i had to fit a new sail servo and on turning the cabin section upside down spotted very small numbers on sections of the wood i then remembered all the years ago that the deck and cabin etc came all marked out so you just had to cut them out very easy the hull was very thin plastic type and was prone to cracking a few years ago i striped the lot down and pumped builders foam inside the hull manage to marsked of the servo and rudder section and it made the hull a lot firmer and was still light i plus i know that it won't sink Best Regards David

Certainly no claims here on scale or workmanship ! - just a " fun and functional " model which more than satisfies my initial challenge ! .

- philcaretakerCommodoreI can only thank my "first in command" - (the XYL) for sailing her - It gets a bit confusing trying to do both jobs at once ! .⛵I can only thank my "first in command" - (the XYL) for sailing her - It gets a bit confusing trying to do both jobs at once ! .⛵
- jbkiwiFleet AdmiralNice conversion Phil, sails well by the looks of it. I have my eye on a similar display model in a haberdashery shop window, but I doubt it's for sale, (or if it is, it's $$$$$)Nice conversion Phil, sails well by the looks of it. - NerysFleet AdmiralHi Cash,Hi Cash, Interesting to see what you guys are putting on the water. Now as an old fashioned sailor girl, I must admit to having a liking for that lovely wishbone schooner. She was gorgeous. I wish we could have seen more of the other sailing craft too, there was another smaller schooner that looked interesting as well as a couple of sloops. Cheers, Nerys.

The other large sailing craft is a racing boat in the Canterbury J class, the two smaller sloops are Micro Magics. Our little club is starting to grow a bit😀Hi Nerys!! How you doing? Thor is a freelance design of a multicat vessel. These rather unusual ships are real workhorses, designed as a work platform, often with a hiab crane. The square hull gives a large flat deck, with plenty of open space for a work area or for deck cargo. The design also enables the vessel to be used as a tugboat, either pushing or towing and are often equipped with large deck winches and strong points for this purpose. A true Swiss army knife of the sea, able to adapt to most roles, some even have additional internal fuel tanks for refuelling other vessels.

Just my cup of tea.

All other after the third were completed with one aft mast and several different boom configurations. Interestingly, two of the original design hull went to the RN via Lend Lease and served the Australians. After the war they were sold to a British Columbian Tugboat firm and made historical reputations for themselves.Thank you. Scale 1:32 L. 850 mm B. 255 mm Approx. 10 kg.
Built in 1990 by Campbelltown Shipbuilders Ltd (Scotland) MAGGIE M operates out of Scarborough harbour in Yorkshire, United Kingdom. The vessel is designed for twin-rig trawling and the aluminium shelter-deck is a cover over the fish processing room.

Having done press setting in my early days, I remembered that a big press we used to set had a hydraulic capacitor which helped get the ram moving (pretty much what electrical capacitors do for motors etc) I started with a common party balloon with no container and knew Graham would be interested, and it progressed from there. As usual, Graham has done a fancy bit of electronic control on his, with solenoid and timing and has it working nicely.
(just received my new solenoid which I will be adding in due course)
Balloon is stopped from filling by a micro switch to the air pump and air is released by solenoid at whatever timing you need (depending on how well your smoker can keep up). If the system has no leaks, the 'capacitor' can hold air indefinitely, ready for use, and will re-fill automatically, (pump only runs to re-fill) This idea can be modified to suit anything (guns, exhaust startup and run, steam to simulate steam whistle etc) Balloons of all shapes can be used eg -(long thin sausage balloons could be fitted inside a tube if space is an issue).
With a good air pump, the 'capacitor' will fill quite quickly and some good pressure can be achieved.

- jbkiwiFleet AdmiralAlways thinking of improvements and new gadgets Martin, which might be useful for new model builds. At least Graham and I have got it pretty much sorted, so people can do modifications to suit their particular models. Main thing is that these devices are cheap and simple to make (in basic form) which is the whole idea, and can give your model that little bit extra. Most bits can be easily sourced from Ali Express/ Ebay etc.Always thinking of improvements and new gadgets Martin, which might be useful for new model builds.
