    Hey Trev..

There are pilots WAY better than me. I fly Scale, no aerobatics (my machines don't like aerobatics!!). Just like the Violin or juggling, they take perseverance and practice. I have been flying Helis for 40+ yrs now..

Our club made the local news!!
The local Fox TV channel contacted us and told us they'd like to do a short feature on us.
The time allotted was short, but I think we did a nice job representing our hobby.
Hopefully this may create more interest in the local community!
Here are links to the 3 segments they aired:

RC Tyne Paddle Tug
Built by Buxton Model Boat Club member Adrian , he says :- "essentially the paddle boat is scratch built but uses some fittings and materials from a Disar "Vanguard" kit ".
Adrian used drawings of "Flying Scotsman" for inspiration, but is not a faithful reproduction, although "Old Trafford" is also quite similar .
This was the maiden voyage so plenty more work to be done on detail and ballast etc.as the boat still sits a bit low in the water.
For reference see :- http://tynetugs.co.uk/

INGA IV - Luxury Ketch
Believed to be from Revell Models , " INGA IV " is a model Ketch , owned and sailed here by Martin Ward of the Hayling Island Model Boat Club.

RCSailing is just for fun, no gain. Other than sharing photos and videos relating to Buxton Model Boat Club activities, from time to time its nice to "showcase" models from other clubs and members as seen here with the link between BMBC & HIMBC - all sharing the common interest in model boats and the "Model Boat Website".

So ah, is this thing mobile ? Towable ? Open the door and window, drag it down the road and all that pesky sawdust and debris would be GONE !

Actually, you’ve done a great job on it…. Now a mini bar fridge and music is all that’s left..

"Mississippi Steamboats" ?
Perhaps not a true description with both boats being battery powered ! however - just for fun I thought it would be nice to showcase together, similar boats sailed at my own local model boat club and some of those sailed at the Hayling club - a sort of "Model Club Twinning".

Return visit to - Hayling Island Model Boat Club
On a visit to Hayling Island last year, I met and sailed members of the Hayling Island Model Boat Club at their local venue at Mill Rythe.
May this year provided me the opportunity for a return visit.
Many thanks again to all members for the hospitality shown.
Special thanks to Greg, Rob and Mike (the Swan Whisperer) !.

Adrian had cut the brushless motor power to 45% as it was his first test run. He intends to redistribute the weight and increase the power and see how it goes on the next test. I will try and be present and video to see how he fares.

Looks a lovely pond, like the maneuvering challenge. How big is it ? It’s made me thinking about building one for our club.👍
