This model was originally scratch built in 1964 by my Dad as a 15th birthday present for me,the length over all is 60.5" with a beam of 17.5" and a theoretical draught of 3.5",not sure as to the actual design but it is meant to be 1/12th scale, it was originally powered by a 12 Volt windscreen wiper motor out of an old Mercedes car, and the radio gear was a home made system as well, but both are now well beyond repair and I am fitting an MFA 800 Motor with a Fusion Aquapower ESC rated at 125amp. run by a new 2.4 Ghz radio system.
When I get to sea trials stage I will send Update and possible video footage.This boat along with the rest of my harbour, will be on view at the Abbergavenny Steam Rally this weekend June 3rd and 4th(Sunday Monday) in the model section marquee.

I've enjoyed the various pictures of your Sea Queen Larry and it's always been one of my favourites- ever since I was about thirteen when one was completely out of my reach. I'm hoping to start one ( a Jotika kit) as soon as my present restoration- a Wavemaster- is complete.
By the way I loved the Bobby- I've built two of those in my time, both gone west I'm afraid.

SemI Scratch build from a my hobby store plan and hull [only] kit. After 18 months its still an ongoing build 🔨 , as my research in to the original vessel continues so I can get it as correct as possible. 😯
I have managed to get all the correct light patterns on and working, as well as twin radar and now finally have got the crane to operate remotely from the radio transmitter. 👍
Sorry but No, This boat has not yet been on display anywhere as not yet completely finished, merely undergoing "sea trials" to check ballasting and seaworthyness if you get my meaning, as due to its flat bows, it is not the smoothest of vessels to steer, or if given too much throttle it heaves a lot of water over the bows.
This slide show shows the build and final result of my scratch built Seaplane Tender. it is 1/12th scale and powered by 2 x 250 watt brushless motors. Built in 2011, it sails at Knightcote in Warwickshire and Tynemouth in the NE.
HI Yes we used the plans from Dr Robert Haan at 100 scale for the RMS Titanic. They are very detailed plans and will enable you to build a very realistic model. You will need to make certain modifications to model Olympic but really the external differences are few, most notably the missing enclosed fore part of the quarter deck.
The plans are on six sheets of about 18ft by 3ft so an email would not be possible, and are copyright protected.
As far as I know the plans are still available, we paid about £200, and I will email you the address if you send me a personal message.
I am still researching details on the Olympic as she had many modifications over the years, particularily to the lifeboats and I am still not convinced my version is correct at present. I am modelling around 1912/13 and good pictures are hard to come by.
Here is my scratch built Seaplane Tender in !/12 th scale. it is powered by 2 x 250 watt brushless motors running on 7.2 volt Nmih batteries. Pictured here at Knightcote Model Boat Club in Warwickshire and a couple during construction.
I used the extremely good drawings in the plans sold on the model boats magazine shop web site. As you say, easily copies at staples so can even be used as a template when copied. Good luck with your project.

She,s a 1/80 scale scratch built cargo ship of the Port line company from around the 1950,
A ship this size requieres quite a bit of balast, I use water, it takes around 40 lds to get her sitting right, this is pumped in and out with a submersible caravan water pump.
Most of the fittings are resin castings.
there are a few more bits to finnish off but could not resist the chance to try her out on the Chasewater pool.
