A bit windier this time (10-15 mph) but it's not built to sit on a shelf, so having made a few adjustments I thought I'd risk it. It tried playing submarine a few times after a spin but handled the wind ok till trying to get back, - tried to weathervane back out, so ended up power on beaching. Lots of fun in the sun, -still more adjusting to do, ie get it steering straight by itself and limit the drifting slightly.

Shouldn't be too much trouble Martin it if do it like the flash job. Looks like an accessory option that goes on as a unit.? I can get some thin alloy sheet at the hardware I think which might do, or even plastic sheet eg ABS or similar.

My most recent model built this year. it is a Revell 1/72nd scale US Navy Skipjack class submarine converted for RC using an R&R Engineering twin piston dive module. Skipjacks were in service from 1960 to 1990.

Yes, Unfortunately the weeds keep increasing. Each time it submerged near the bottom it was stopped by the weeds and surfaced in the same place. I edited these out.

Hi Mactin, there was also a 'Seahawk' in the Star Trek / Wars saga!
Shame about USS Penguin, would have been a tasty boat 😉
BTW: penguins are my favourite animal. so funny, or imperious like the Emperor penguins. 👍
Didn't know about the film either, when I think about sub films Operation Petticoat comes to mind! How about doing a pink one!!!?😲
Keep up the great work, Cheers Doug 😎

Never seen an RC Battleship that actually simulates firing of its weapons. This was great to watch. Complimented by a submarine crash diving and surfacing!

The Naval Warfare event, Battle of Peasholm,[9] has been played out for half an hour three times a week during the summer season for over 80 years. The model boats used are mostly man powered earning the fleet the title of "The smallest manned navy in the world". All the boats were man powered, until 1929, when electricity was introduced, and now only the larger boats need to be steered by council employees. in the early days, the models were First World War battleships and a U-boat. Then, after the Second World War, the fleet was replaced with new vessels and the battle that was recreated was the Battle of the River Plate."
Hi Boaty, Apparently so! 😊
There was some discussion about this here a little while ago

hello MBWs A little project im currently working on which may possibly change everything its a non aspirating zero emissions adjacent combustion two stroke submarine propulsion system its self sustaining and its fuel is good old H2O! yes I know you probably think im mental and youre probably right but ive had the test bedder running.

Hi Edward, its a fine balancing act of electrolysis to hydroide gas, compression then ignition but utillising vacuum formation as an assisting force to the power stroke so effectively making it a one stroke which sounds odd.still in development ive tried turbine, oscillator pistons and hydraulic recoil as end movers but the best seems to be the straight reciprocator. its scary, how the hell can they tax water??? cheers Neil.
