Hi" to all model boat builders. I thought I would add my new project to this fireboat website for all to see ! I bought this from fleabay as a total wreck. She is a rare Scratch built from a plan of a Walton Thames RAF ASRL launch at 36 inch long & 8 inch wide.took me approx 6 months to do the rebuild. Brush painted with 5 assorted colours with decals working lights ect.
Walton Thames is now running on a new Johnston speed 600 electric motor. 50 amp speed controller 45mm pitched propeller.A 6 volt at4.ah which gives good running time & good scale speed. Photos are taken at Eaton park Norwich England. Enjoy. 😊
My next project will be a 1950s Aerokits/Keilcraft Sea hornet. " So watch this space "

This model was originally scratch built in 1964 by my Dad as a 15th birthday present for me,the length over all is 60.5" with a beam of 17.5" and a theoretical draught of 3.5",not sure as to the actual design but it is meant to be 1/12th scale, it was originally powered by a 12 Volt windscreen wiper motor out of an old Mercedes car, and the radio gear was a home made system as well, but both are now well beyond repair and I am fitting an MFA 800 Motor with a Fusion Aquapower ESC rated at 125amp. run by a new 2.4 Ghz radio system.
When I get to sea trials stage I will send Update and possible video footage. This boat along with the rest of my harbour, will be on view at the Abbergavenny Steam Rally this weekend June 3rd and 4th(Sunday Monday) in the model section marquee.

HI Yes we used the plans from Dr Robert Haan at 100 scale for the RMS Titanic. They are very detailed plans and will enable you to build a very realistic model. You will need to make certain modifications to model Olympic but really the external differences are few, most notably the missing enclosed fore part of the quarter deck.
The plans are on six sheets of about 18ft by 3ft so an email would not be possible, and are copyright protected.
As far as I know the plans are still available, we paid about £200, and I will email you the address if you send me a personal message.
I am still researching details on the Olympic as she had many modifications over the years, particularily to the lifeboats and I am still not convinced my version is correct at present. I am modelling around 1912/13 and good pictures are hard to come by.

I used the extremely good drawings in the plans sold on the model boats magazine shop web site. As you say, easily copies at staples so can even be used as a template when copied. Good luck with your project.

Many thanks, I prob have not researched enough at the start just wanted to crack on with something. Not even looked in a model magazine, though visited a few local clubs on sail day.

HI shipmates, here,s a few shpts of the "Port ".
She,s a 1/80 scale scratch built cargo ship of the Port line company from around the 1950,
A ship this size requieres quite a bit of balast, I use water, it takes around 40 lds to get her sitting right, this is pumped in and out with a submersible caravan water pump.
Most of the fittings are resin castings.
there are a few more bits to finnish off but could not resist the chance to try her out on the Chasewater pool.

HI fellow modellers, Another model from the RADMC fleet at the fleetshaven workshop and boat yard in Ponthir. This model was scratch built using a fibre glass hull and plan obtained from a fellow modeller at the Bridgend Show in 2007. The front door and some fittings are made from plastic card and tube, decks are from ply and timber. On board figures are from the pound shop and car boot sales, modified by myself. The on board tank and half truck are RTR models that I have modified their looks to fit into a WWII theme for the craft. This craft has twin drive, 400 motors via 2.5/1 gearboxes. I tend to use both sticks on the TX for drive as this allows me to turn the model on a six pence. The dispatch door works from a rotary pot on the TX and via a rotary sail winch servo in the hull. I have just modified my Planet 5 TX to allow me to change my radio gear in this craft. This model has had meny trips on Cwmbran Boating Lake and at shows the society attend during the year. Still haven't allowed the tank or half track to run off the landing craft up the lake side slipway. one day I might get it on video. Hope you enjoyed the photo's. Regards GreyWolf

Hi" I thought I would put my new rebuild on for all to see ! I found this old Marblehead yacht as a wreck. She was gathering dust in an old reclaim ferniture wherehouse whilst we were on holiday last summer. Been told the yacht had been originaly scratch built in 1950s from a plan. She took me about half a year to rebuild. New parts as follow hiteck sail arm winch with 18lbs of torque. New futaba servo for the rudder. New sails & booms rigs & fittings. New deck made from plank strip wood & varnished. Also finished in painted Ivery white. She sail well in lite to strong winds At my local boating lake at Sheringham Norfolk .
works well on a Spekrum DX5E But can work on any other 2 channal transmitter .
Hope you enjoy the photos .

I have a Nylet Marblehead called INIGMA with a carbon fibre hull sails are on a swing rig they are great yachts to sail
A quick ( 3 weeks) rough 35" balsa MaiamI powered by Turrnigy 28/30 outrunner , 3cell LiPo and 30A ESC made for my son who wasn't that interested so I am adding a bit more to it and 'playing' with it myself .
Vic Smeed plan Thornycroft took about 20yrs (on and off) to complete and has an Electronize 43HX 24v 15A controller, 2x 400 sized 6-12v brushed motors 4cell 3000MAh LiPo for main power with seperate 3 cell LiPo running a computer fan for cooling (fan is linear and sucks air through the boat from the front hatches and blows it out through the rear hatches) There are also seperate 3 and 4 cell AA NmH packs for nav and interior lighting.
Boat runs 28mm 3 blade props and runs at a realistic scale speed and attitude. Radio gear is 2.4 and I have modified one TX for twin throttles and at present am running both these boats simultaniously on the one TX.
Have bought twin car ESCs, batts, RXs and BECs for the PT and the (36") British Power Boat 64ft HSL I am building (modelled on the RNZAFs 64ft HSL- the only one sold in the southern hemisphere - in 1940) Went on board as a teenager before she was ruined by being turned into a pleasure launch so it was a help with the building. Still remember the wonderful alloy 'Power Boat' stair treads down to the ward room. Will get some pics up of the HSL as well.
