I built this one from a Caldercraft kit and powered it with a twin screw steam engine
Model has steam horn sound together with bilge pump and fully equipped lighting system
Have extensively weathered the model to create realism to imitate what it probably looked like after many years steaming and working round the world in the 1930's
A smoke generator has also been fitted which together with the twin screw steam engine gives a realistic look when on the water

This is the kit I am offering to Garibaldi. I bought it as a gift for my grandson but lost interest. That was 24 years ago, and it has sat in my garage ever since I am ashamed to say

You have seen it being built. Now it is done. A Nor-Star Kingfisher kit but with some scratch building too. Because of the motor being longer than how the kit was originally designed, the second bulkhead was altered. I am running it with two 2400 Ni-MH 7.2 batteries, a Futoba servo, on a 2.4 GHz Spektrum.

I've been building this Billings kit for some years now. [laid the keel in 2007 !!] but I'm slowly getting there. I've just recently joined this Website so not sure if this is the correct place to post some pictures of this build plus a yacht and steam launch. I'll start here anyway and no doubt someone will advise me for future postings.

Mobile Marine kit (bought the full kit) impressed with content.

It is 85 cm long, RC fishing boat. Engine is 0.15 cc nitro. it is not a kit, hundred percent hand made.

Please note that this kit includes Motors and couplings from Deans. All you need are the servos, speed controller and radio to complete this kit.

My grandson Michael helped me build this kit last winter. We had fun researching existing tug boats of the era, and upgrading some of the details. After the bath tub test, I changed from direct drive to a 3:1 ratio motor to keep it running at a scale speed.

I recently acquired this lovely boat off eBay,...she cleaned up nicely, and runs quite beautifully since I re engined with a Torpedo 850, on 14 volts.

Now, I would love to know is this is a one off, or a kit?

The build quality and layout would suggest a kit, but what do I know?

I'm sure the massed wisdom on this site can provide me with a clue...

Overall length; almost 50"

Recently built from an Aeronaut kit, this is a 1/24th scale Pilot Boat based on a German design. Powered by two 540 brushed motors with 3 bladed brass props it attains something like scale speed. The colour is Volkswagen Bright Orange, courtesy of Halfords and the non-slip deck is acrylic green mixed with silver sand then covered with a silk finish varnish.
The boat was filmed at an illuminated regatta staged by Bournville Model Yacht and Power Boat Club on their lake in Bournville, Birmingham

Return to building model boats after 45 years and first with R/C.
Fine kit by Mountfleet, though white metal castings getting a bit tired. Don't take it out sailing very often as it takes a lot of lead which I load each time. Quite a handful to launch. Sails well though.

Enjoyed making this superb kit from model slipway. Having to cut out the polystyrene sheets proved to be no problem. With 2 motors and bow thruster, thought it would be good for the steering competitions, but its a bit wide in the beam for our rather tight course. Working searchlight and rotating radar.
