Yes but Remus di have the top removed in the late 60s early 70s which has been put back recently so i beleave

I was looking for my pic of Faustulus F21 on the Hard at Whitstable but atm carnt find it Here is a brighter pic of Remus but perhape its not the best as its got so much missing
Other pics show Remus with origanal wheel house in the quay and with out its origanal stern end

There are are clues to this puzzle.
1) What is the standard dimensions of the life ring laying on top of the crew quarters?
2) The exhaust pipe.
3) The vertical wood of the crew quarters?
4) The port hole
5) There are standards in house construction for the placement of studs in the wall. In the boat building trade, there are standard for rib, bulkhead placements. 24”? 30”? Centre to centre. In Ontario the wall stud can be found @ 16” centre.
6) The bow stem appears to be about 6” exposed.
7) What is the standard width for the boards used to plank a fishing vessel? 4”, 6”, ..?

Use the clues and your knowledge gained from model and boat design to calculate the approximate design of this vessel. Send me your answers. This man wants a model that will resemble this vessel. Let him work through the details of deck features, but we can at least try using the clues before us.

I think it is an optical elusion.

Could there be a extra hull support ? Not sure what you call them tbh its a dark pic so my eyes carnt pick it out .I will need to brighten up the pic
I can only get mor measurement when we can travel in the uk so after lockdown

If I zoom in on the Aft photo, the Remus appears to have something extending from the side mid way along the hull about halfway below the waterline. Is this correct?

If the draft is 3’6” then my guess from the water line up is about the same, at the beam, maybe 30”. The bow 54” ?

The stern appears to not be flat across the transom, but comes to a point. If you draw a straight line across from the corner of the stern from port to starboard, then measured out it appears to be 18”-24”. What say ye?

Iam not runing i know my limitations that is why ive joined a forum for help where i dont know atm how to proceed . I dont ask often for help in my life ever but iam going through a 5y brevement for my 96y mum and its turned my world upside down and i can not work because and think things through any more.

I think in many ways you are trying to run before you can walk. You say you have woodwork skills, well buy a couple of kits of wooden boats and find out how a hull is built, develop your skill into model making. Once you are confident doing that, then you will be ready to produce a plan or even just build without a plan, after all thousands of real boats have been built without plans. You don't have to be a mathematician, all you need is an 'eye' for it.

Unfortunatly thats all ive collected looking on the internet for them .We carnt travel atm and the only Boat that suvives is Remus that is without its wheel house atm.However i will take my own pics and take measurements as soon as everyone can travel in our current situation

The photographs supplied aren't that good for producing a drawing with CAD (Solid Edge is the one I use) A lot more data is required. I don't know whether RNinmunich can help., but I am hitting brick walls with this.

My skills are in actual wood work gen diy so the build should be ok.My brain was never good at maths or any tec working out so will need a lot of help to get from pics to a drawing

I don't know what your skill level is? But I agree with Nerys you may not find the plans of the things you want.. The photos are of no real help. So, buy a plan or a short kit and develop your skills.

It is highly unlikely that you will get the plans or a kit of the boats you want, why not buy a plan and the materials for some other fishing boat so that you can learn something about building techniques etc. Once you have acquired a little skill you should be able to adapt those skills to the boats you actually want to build.

I dont have any photes to hand only online and i dont have a printer anymore so its going to be difficult without help drawing one The side views i have arnt square on only the ones at a distance

Id prefer to only work with wood and plans. If i carnt find help with plans i will have to try a small mock up in Balsa

Build info that i was given a few years ago Remus and Faustulus are the same diamentions as is Romulus so the same hull size The only differance was the wheel house as Remus the later F7 registration had a differant one which was altered in a 70s refit the same as Romulus that was Registerd first F6 which i thought strange .

I know this isn't what you really want to do, but why not build a relatively simple kit to start off with, to get some idea of the way hulls are put together and motorised etc. I started with a couple of kits from Aeronaut and haven't looked back. As you say you like working in wood, I would suggest you continue that way. I've worked with wood all my life, but recently bought a kit that's all plastic and am really struggling. Work with the medium you know.

This seems to be a lifetime quest for you!
I'm sure I've seen you on another forum some 7 years ago with the same query.

On this site there are a number of guys who are expert at designing and building from photographs.
Notably jbkiwi in New Zealand.
Also several guys like redpmg, Ianh (SA) and myself are OK with graphics / drawing software.

If you can supply basic dimensions; length overall and maximum beam, as well as photos taken square on to the boat showing side profiles bow and stern views, maybe between us we can sort something out.

As far as motors are concerned there are many members who have built models of that size.
I hope at least one of them picks up on this and offers advice from their experience.
With respect to RC gear there are countless possibilities (and prices!), but that decision can be made way down the line when the boat is under construction and you have decided what you want to do with it, and thus how many control functions (TX channels) you will need.

First equipment decision should be size and type of motor and prop combination.
I hope that between us we can help you realise your dream.

I always draw my own plans. Because I like to build models I have a connection to, local or I have sailed on. To start as many photos as I can find. Find the measurements Lloyds if stuck. I select photo taken square on. Load it into drawing program on computer. Draw around every thing you been delete the photo. This gives the elevation, knowing the length ( between perpendiculars or overall, so watch that)scale it & print. Problem it can be printed on smaller paper & stuck together. I used to do it that way but now just use 2 A4. Make a scale rule to fit the plan, mark Red. On the other side mark a scale to fit the model. Need to find a hull frames of a similar model from these a plan can be drawn. Every thing I have is pinned on my shop wall. That is just the starry.

I have no idear about How to go from pics to a plan as i need one i think to get it right .I would like to do a proper frame and plank the sides as i want to make is as authentic as possible .I know nothing about RC which i will want and also what size motor /motors i will need for such large 4` boats That why i came on a forum

I've seen these two fishing boats before, As you say, they were built for Whitstable owners. I think two brothers of a well known local fishing family. The Fishing registration letter is for Faversham., bit incongruous in North Norfolk

Romulus is F6 these pics i already have
These boats are made of Pitch pine on oak frame Remus had a differant wheel house when new in 1955 as the pic shows when up the east quay in wells as in the pics .Later in the 70s Remus had a refit with a wheel house similar to F6 Romulus and then they were painted over

Any plans i've seen so far are not like the boat i want to build.

I only build from photographs, just three normally "bow, side & stern" providing I have the true L x B of the vessel. Just using a pencil/ruler I scale to what size I want, obviously, a computer and printer are needed and some maths or a calculator. I don't bother with a full plan.

There are hobby shops for plans (Sarik hobbies and Cornwall model boats) are two I have used. The best I can offer is to go on line to view their offerings see if any think comes close.
Model boat magazines also have plans.
