I must admit that I thought about it Commodore😠
Sadly, but not for you, this practise died out in the mid 19th century😭
So I may just have to settle for busting you back to Captain 😉

Each and every person on our site has something to offer.
The rank structure is a bit of fun in my eyes.
Off to polish the gold braid and ceremonial sword in anticipation 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🧜♂️

I don't think anyones feathers have been ruffled.
It is just a conversation that started about what would happen when we get too many Admirals.
As you know in the past points were deducted and members found themselves demoted and that did upset a few members.
I agree with you that at the end of the day we are all model makers, and all have different skill levels.
And this site has a lot of members that are willing to help and pass on information that not only helps the newcomer to this hobby but also gives fresh thinking to some of the more experienced modeller.
That alone makes this site unique and the great success it is.
But you are still a mutinous dog LOL!!!

Whatever the system, it is the hobby that matters to us all it sometimes feels like life is a bit pointless and depressing but as soon as I see what the modellers on here achieve then I feel better and want to carry on.
Its only the pain that stops me, my brain is always ready for a new challenge.
Cheers Colin.

Make Doug Lord or first Lord.
Then move the point total of the two fleets up to 12000 that won't change Doug as he would still have more points than that.
Could also add 2000 points Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral and Admiral .

As you know the point/rank system is two fold.
1) it encourages participation on the site.
2) it is just a bit of fun.
You are correct in saying that we are all fellow modellers that are passionate about what we do, and why do we need Ranks.
The ranking system dose mean quite a bit to some members and that chasing the ranks gives them a feeling of achievement and something to aim for.

Young and old we all have the same passion about what we do.
Keeping the points is okay, but dump the ranking system.
Okay, so I'm a mutinous dog who always goes my own way, don't make me walk the plank I can't swim.
Cheers Colin.

Thanks for your kind words.😊
My build blogs are just 'different'.... only because I tend to go into a lot of detail and post lots of 'photos which probably make them a bit 'dry' by comparison.🤓
Other build blogs are no less better than mine and I regard anyone who takes the effort to write one worthy of praise.
Kind Regards.

Oh and I suppose the average build blogs should also get a mention in the Congratulations 😁😁

Thank you for your congratulations 👍😀
We do indeed seem to be chasing each other in the rankings but for me this is actually a reinstatement to the upper echelons.
When the website was re-vamped about a year ago the 'points league' was re-scaled and I was demoted from Fleet Admiral to something like 'Leading Stoker'😜 (I can't exactly recall what ranking I was re-scaled to).
I can fully understand the reasoning behind the change, and after all it's only a bit of fun to generate interest and activity.
Judging by the number of recent promotions this seems to be working well which is really good for the website.
However it does make me wonder what happens when there are multiple Fleet Admirals though?
Perhaps there will be a new ranking of 'First Sea Lord' 😉
With Kind Regards.
Rob.
