Thank you Fleet for your congratulations on my promotion. I shall do my best to uphold the traditions of the service in my new command. I shall of course fly my flag on LST 388, but apart from a sail training cruise next summer to Lofoten in my coasting barge 'Stangate', I wouldn't mind doing something rebellious and fixing a freight for my coaster 'Alice C' to Northern Norway somewhere.
n.b. I have never heard of a barge going to Norway, but one has been to Sweden and I know somebody who sailed a Wayfarer 16ft dinghy to Norway from Sunderland.
