Messing about in boats, West Float Wallasey Docks.

I just found this video of your humble narrator doing a trip round the West Float on the Wallasey/Birkenhead dock system in a Cheverton Viking on our Sea Cadets boathouse open day about 10 years ago. The berths are mostly empty now, when I was a nipper there would be a ship on every berth and gig boats tugs and workboats charging about all over. The chap who appears is an ex tug crewmember and is pointing out places on the quayside wall where visiting ships would paint their names. Over in the distance to starboard is the final resting place of HMS Bronnington (still there). As we proceed down the dock we run out of fuel (silly me forgot to dip the tank) good job we were in enclosed waters. Had to be towed back by the safety boat. The two lads in the rib were taught by myself to RYA standard, both holding the RYA safety boat ticket.
If it don't fit, use a hammer to make it fit....
