fireboat update

I have, with a lot of difficulty, cut out the bulkheads, why, not really sure, but my two gurus have, so I have followed suit .
Felt ashamed after Paul had a nosey round my workshop, so I have had a big clean up 😯
The second pic is of the best asset in the workshop. (Photo taken before clean up 😁 )

Yes Shaun, I painted the inside of the wheelhouse white before putting the roof on, think I might have gone over the top with the 12 LED's in there, it's a bit on the bright side 😁

That took a bit of finding, but I reckon it's the start of a tow hook.
I have set a trap tonight to catch whatever keeps hiding all my pencils and the 6 inch rule 😁

I picked the JP EnerG motor for mine after having a discussion with the bloke at Blackpool, but as I research things and learn a little more I think it might just be a little too powerful but hey ho at least it will be fun. I noticed pmdevlin mentioned he had fitted plastic rubbing strakes which might be a little easier to bend with some heat so might give that a try. Did you paint the inside bits in the forward cabin and wheelhouse before fitting the roof ❓

great workshop Alan, looks real cosy, couldnt help being nosy and having a look around 😁
have a look here, I work in a disorganised mess! prizes for guessing what part of the fireboat was being made!, part of the wiring loom is hanging on the back wall, disaster waiting to happen really!

Thanks Shaun, I usually paint too early and then spoil it, so this time I will leave it till last minute.
The bath (as you call it) is made out of 1.5 plasticard and incorporates the tow hook base, photo of the underside.
photo also of what I am going to power it with, the motor is a XYH35-42 1250kv 45A Brushless outrunner, if I have picked the wrong motor it is easily swapped.
I have spent all afternoon fitting one rubbing strake, had it on and off several times, hope it's right cos I have glued it now.

Looking really good Alan must be nearly paint time. 👍 Damage to the fast electric isn't too bad but bet it's one job you didn't want. 😓 What did you build the bath for the rear cockpit out of? What did you decide on the motor/ESC/battery combination for the fireboat.

Just to show one or two members how I am getting on, while repairing the blackjack that I ran Into the lake side I have done a bit to the fireboat, the front window that I fitted upside down has been cut out and replaced with a new one the right way up, to do this the wheelhouse roof had to come off, that has been replaced now and all Is well 😀
A bit of planking has been done with teak strips cut from a big chunk of teak wood and I have started on the tub for the aft cockpit. I still have the rubbing strakes to put on, Ill probably put them on upside down as well 😁
