I had a good but tiring day because of a two hour drive.
You must have been AWOL when I came by your stand which took some beating with the video display and the vast amount of boats.
I had a good look around the bring & buy and saw a couple of impressive fibre glass hulls, HMS Hood and HMS Diamond but only came away with some old plans, and a set of needle files (to go in my model boat toolbox).
I counted 38 "stands" on Ian's (components shop) the organiser's desk. Also can't remember seeing any traditional sailing ships but they are regularly featured in the Model Boat mag so must still have a good following.
I didn't see anyone else from the York model boat club only Richard with his vast amount of 3D resin printed figures ( Jager Hobby). All in all it was a good day.😀😴😴.

While at the show I did have a conversation with a friend about how model boating was “doing”
He also is involved with railway modelling, which has seen a growth of interest from younger people, he felt DCC and the use of computers was attracting new interest. We commented on the fact that the show was full of a certain gender and demographic.
I also wonder how access to good open, weed free, water is effecting participation? The MYA seems to be active but wasn’t at the show and the lack of traditional sailing models was also noticeable but that is reflected on this forum? Perhaps I am in a decreasing group, which will die out?

I did go, bought a few things, always useful to get some small section wood.
