The next little job was to put the Bow Bumper support plat abd knees in place , this class of tug has a bow fender/bumper consisting of 4x14inch square rubber fenders around the bow so quite heavy steelwork would be required on the original ,which I have tried to model here, also the bow mooring bits were tried for size.

The bulwarks came next along with the knees ( the inside brackets ) these took some time as the curves around the stern were in 3 dimensions.

Well now that most of the heavy building work is done, it is time to start making her look like a tug.
the Bow fenders are on they are really heavy rubber fenders around the bow. and I use 20mm x8mm rubber strips in two layers and smaller strips for the lower fender, the half round rubber is 16mm x 8 mm and was procured from the internet the handrails are around the bridge deck and the painting process has started, I was lucky enough to get the actual Moran in house paint colours from them in America and have had some mixed uo in the paint store B & Qs.

The build is really progressin well at this stage, a lot more detail has been added and fittings made, the two radars have their own motors and gearboxes so that they both turn, the lights are being added I am usin 5mm LEDs for all the deck lighting and grain of wheat bulbs for nav lights.

these pictures show the deck and Nav lights working they seem very effective in the dark and the deck lights show well in daylight.
