Might be a Chris Craft Catalina

A fellow in the model boat club started this build but did not finish.I was given the model to finish up. She's a scratch-built 34-inch x 11-inch beam with a prop shaft of about 11 inches.I needed to modify the cradle, as the stuffing box that sat on the cradle took about 3 inches off the stand. The rubber was also a little too long and I thought that I should cut it down a little. I think the model is based on an open-cockpit Catalina, an older Sterling-style model not sure I have no info on the make.

Wrap around wind screen

I Googled an image of a Huntsman model and noticed the wrap around wind screen and I like that look, but it will be a real chore to make It and now I'm thinking of how & what material to use Brass , wood , round plastic, etc. I hope I'm not getting in trouble posting a Google image I just hope there isn't a copy right on that image thats not my model.

@GARTH It's in the Public Domain already so I wouldn't worry about it. Some of my models turn up in Google searches because they have harvested them from my posts on forums. It's usually only a problem if money is involved.

In the kits the windscreens are made from thin, say 1mm plastic sheet and then the frames are indicated with white tape. Some folks have made them from brass and had them chromed but that tends to be with the bigger 47" version though it can be done with the smaller versions. I even saw a model at a show where all the windows were metal!

Decided to make a windscreen and used some 3/32 brass rod and 1/8 brass tubing to make a window frame. It ain't perfect, but I'm happy; it still needs some adjustments. And plastic windows before installation. That's another problem to solve
