Bought the plans off the Wooden Boat Store they are quite strange to work to hand drawn and often contradictory first problem is printing them but the free version of Acrobat lets you print full size in tile mode so much sellotaping later I have 9 full size plans which I can photocopy on my printer to give me the outlines to lightly Pritt stick to the wood so I can start cutting out.

I wanted to know if I should use yacht varnish on the inside before it is hidden by the deck, I know the first coat should be a thinned 2 parts varnish to 1 part thinners

Should I waterproof the inside before I add the deck

@Clockmaker Thanks everybody it seems as I suspected that waterproofing the inside is the thing to do as this is a Footy I am a bit wary of resin I want keep it light, so I will give it three coats of Rustin's Gloss Yacht varnish I used this on both my previous boats and it worked well.
Sealed the inside the hull with Rustins Gloss Yacht Varnish, glued in a couple of ping pong balls into the space at the front and wanted to do same for rear but the lowered deck got in the way. Fitting the deck was easy now I get do all the fun stuff lots of carving and enhancing

@Clockmaker
Clockmaker, that’s some beautiful workmanship!
The hull and framing are coming along really nicely, especially considering those hand-drawn and sometimes contradictory plans. 😄
I also built a Cat Boat, although mine is a static model rather than R/C.
I’m adding a few pictures of mine just for reference, so you can see the version I built.
Looking forward to seeing yours progress!
