Following on from my new workshop thread, the first 'project' is to build a hand winch for my African Queen. I have used Meccanio gears, but the rest is scratch built.
First photo, is the setting out of the drum, for this I used 1" ally bar. in the second I am profiling the drum to shape. Photo 3 shows 2 pieces of 25 thou brass sheet soldered together to make 2 identical sides and finally, photo 4 shows the two sides. More later...

Hi, winch completed, I will post some photos later today. I tried to post a video of the finished African Queen but it kept failing. I did email admins but got no reply.......
The winch is now finished and painted and is now installed. I will let the pictures tell the tale.
