Bottom boards, nothing very exciting. But a neat trick (I think) stuck down on double sided tape until the cleats have set. Trim to fit after with scissors. 🔨

Here are the profiles I used. Could have been a little wider. 🔨

After a couple of coats of acrylic varnish, I use this water based varnish as it dose not build up in corners as much as oil based. The into the test tank. (Wash hand basin in the workshop thats why its grubby.) Not a drop of water in the boat. 🔨

Having visited Norway, past three weeks. Saw this clinker boat being constructed. No frames just props down from the beam above.
I often wondered how the planks at the ends of long boats could be bent up on edge so sharp. Well now I know, the planks are short about 5ft and cut to shape.

Just making another clinker boat, a commission. 😀 This is the method I have devised to space the planks. Wrap a strip of paper around the frames to find the length. Draw a line, easily divided to the number of planks required, slightly longer than the widest frame. Join the divisions to a point square to the centre, the further away the better. Place the paper strips so they touch the outer lines, mark in the divisions. Transfer the marks to the model. On a clinker boat, start the width of the lap way from the keel.
