I have had difficulty in getting through to CMB too.
Am advised they are very busy.
Am sure many have turned to boat building due to lock-downs and the demise of Model Dockyard has not helped either.
Once managed to get into contact their usual excellent service prevails, even though shipping is delayed a little.
Keep trying

Hi Howard.
For your info I think you may have got me mixed up with someone else re ringing Deans.
I along with many others on here are somewhat wary of Deans as the quality of their items can be poor.
Check out Other threads.
Cornwall model boats was my recommendation.
However if Deans sort your needs, that’s good news.
Look forward to hearing as things progress.
Regards Bill

Thank you scratch builder for your reply ,nice looking vessel ,mine however has a long way to go ! . I took your advice and contacted Deans marine , as luck would have it ,Deans marine do a crash tender of a similar size except my hull is 50 mm longer , I’ve asked the nice chap at Deans to quote for the running gear of the crash tender ,but with a 10 inch prop shaft , I’ll let you know how it works out !. best regards Howard

Hi Howard.
Re your request for help on running gear for the MTB by Sarik.
I am unsure of the layout of this boat apart from some quick research.
It would be good to have a look at some plans re layout.
However having rung Sarik out of interest they advise me that Cornwall Model Boats stock suitable running gear for this model.I am a customer of CMB and have been for years as are many other members on this site. They are very good and helpful and if you check out their site it shows a comprehensive list of suitable shafts.
You can ring them on 01840211009.
I don’t normally build to this scale but attach some pictures of one of mine to a similar scale if they are of any use.
Is yours single screw,or more.
I would suggest either M2 or M3, but will stand corrected by those who build more of these types. The motors as shown in mine would be more than suitable, but again are you going to use brushed or brushless motors which will determine your ESC control.
Another good supplier of running gear is SHG model suppliers.
If I or any of us can be of further help please ask away.
Regards
Bill.
