To start, I just heard this term S.E.E.L.E (Stash Exceeds Life Expectancy). I am not quite there yet, but probably two kits or projects away from that happening.
Thanks to Lew (Thanks Lew!) I now have a Sterling Yacht America, which I knew nothing about before I received the partially built kit. By partially built, I mean 50%, but only because rigging is a bear. But fairly straight forward on the America. It does have a glorious history.
Also, a Gunboat Philadelphia Kit. This is my problem.
In the que are in order: Complete 44' MLB (Not far now), Finish Billings 44' MLB (Not much to do there either.), The PBY non-flying, flying boat, which is 25%, Re-furbish a 36' MLB (Not a priority, but easier to get back on the water.). 3D print 110' Island Class cutter (But one can be purchased from Motion Hobbies, I do have some funds coming in that can be allotted for this purpose. Then scratch build from plans a 378' Coast Guard Cutter. (Not an issue as plans have not materialized.)
My dilemma is I want to build the Philadelphia and hide thrusters and R/C equipment in it, but I kind of want to do it after my large 44' MLB and before the PBY. The issue is for efficiency's sake, the America could be together before April if I put it to the head of the line. And I do like a sailboat for its simplicity, winch and rudder. Learning curve on stitching the sails.
I absolutely cannot have the PBY and Philadelphia build going at the same time.
This is when I wish I had a 2000 Sq ft metal building with just stations and you could, at your leisure work on multiple projects.
Now, as resin dries on the 44', I go to stare at the America.
