Joysway Focus 3

Hi BobbN it possibly means it is not rubber! Nitrile used for non-stretch drive belts and O rings looks similar.
I hope all is OK anyway.

I have been using vaseline on my Focus 2 and 3 for almost a year now and it has not as yet affected the rubber at all. Before this I used vaseline on my DF65 and again no issues. Perhaps the rubber used is more like "o" ring rubber.

But thanks for the reply I will keep an eye on it, luckily if the rubber does become porous, I understand replacements are available.

Joysway Focus 3

Hi Bobbn nice instructional video. I do not agree with putting vaseline and rubber together as vaseline (petroleum jelly)which is a hydro-carbon reacts with rubber and makes it porous.

I found this out to my cost with trying to get rid of a leak in a car sun-roof.
Have you tried silicon grease in place of vaseline?
Vaseline is OK with O rings as these are a nitrile compound.

Joysway Focus 3

I purchased a Joysway Focus 2 RTR Yacht about 9 Months ago. I upgraded to a Focus 3 about 5 months ago and made a series of videos on how I prepared and rigged my boat. Both boats have been excellent and after preparation both have no leaks at all. Here is the link to the first of three videos.

Hope some members may find this useful.
